Match-Level Markets (Detailed)
Match Winner
The most straightforward cricket bet. Predict which team wins. In T20 and ODI, this is a two-way market (Team A or Team B). In Test matches, it becomes three-way (Team A, Team B, or Draw). Match winner odds are influenced by team rankings, recent form, head-to-head records, venue history, and toss result. This is the recommended starting market for beginners on Reddy Anna.
Toss Winner
A pure 50/50 probability bet. Both teams have exactly equal chances of winning the toss. Odds are typically 1.90-1.95 for each side (the small margin is the bookmaker's profit). While the toss outcome is random, its impact on match outcome varies by venue, which is why toss winner is often combined with match winner in accumulator bets.
Session Markets (Detailed)
Powerplay Runs (Overs 1-6)
Predict the total runs scored by a batting team during the first six overs when fielding restrictions are in place. In T20, powerplay averages range from 40-60 depending on the venue and batting lineup. This market is heavily influenced by the opening partnership, early wickets, and pitch behaviour in the first few overs.
Lambi Runs (Full Innings Total)
The most traded cricket market in India. A line is set (e.g., 165.5 for a T20 innings) and you bet whether the actual total will be over or under. Lambi odds adjust throughout the innings based on the run rate, wickets fallen, and remaining batting resources. Understanding Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) calculations helps in predicting revised targets in rain-affected matches.
Death Overs Runs (Overs 16-20 in T20)
The most volatile session market. Death over scoring depends heavily on how many wickets are in hand. A team with 8 wickets in hand at over 15 will score 55-70 in the death, while a team 7 down might manage only 30-40. This creates excellent live betting opportunities.
Player Performance Markets
| Market | What You Predict | Typical Line | Key Factor |
|---|---|---|---|
| Top Batsman | Highest scorer in innings/match | N/A (odds per player) | Batting position (openers favoured) |
| Player Runs O/U | Individual total above/below line | 25.5 - 35.5 | Recent form, venue average |
| Player Wickets O/U | Bowler wickets above/below | 1.5 | Pitch type (spin/pace) |
| Player Boundaries | Fours + sixes by a player | 3.5 - 5.5 | Strike rate, ground size |
| Man of the Match | Best overall performer | N/A (odds per player) | Usually top scorer or 3+ wicket taker |
Bet Types FAQ
Match winner in ODIs. Lower volatility than T20, no draw possibility (unlike Tests). Start here before exploring sessions and player markets.
Fancy bets include total sixes, total fours, total wides, first wicket over, boundaries per over, and other prop markets. They add variety beyond standard match and session bets.
Yes. Accumulator bets combine multiple selections across different markets. All selections must win for the bet to pay. Higher risk but much higher potential payout.
Match-Level Markets - Complete Guide
Match Winner (Most Popular)
The simplest and most popular cricket bet. In T20 and ODI, predict which of the two teams wins. In Test cricket, a third option (Draw) is available. Match winner odds are set by the market based on team rankings, recent form, head-to-head record, venue history, toss result, and squad composition. This is the recommended starting market for beginners because it requires the least technical knowledge. Over time, as you understand how odds move, you can identify value by comparing your own probability estimate with the offered odds.
Toss Winner (50/50 Market)
A pure chance bet with exactly 50% probability for each team. Odds are typically 1.90-1.95 (the small margin below 2.00 is the bookmaker's profit). While the toss outcome is random, its impact on match outcome varies dramatically by venue. At Wankhede or Eden Gardens (strong dew), winning the toss and bowling first provides a 5-8% win probability advantage. At Chepauk (spin-friendly, batting first preferred), the toss advantage works differently. Toss winner bets are best combined with match winner in accumulator strategies.
Total Match Runs Over/Under
Predict whether the combined runs from both innings will be above or below a line set by the bookmaker. In T20, a typical line might be 340.5 (meaning 341+ for Over, 340 or less for Under). This market requires understanding both teams' batting and bowling strengths, the venue's scoring patterns, and conditions. High-scoring venues like Chinnaswamy favour Over. Spin-friendly venues like Chepauk favour Under.
Session Markets - Complete Guide
Powerplay Runs (Overs 1-6)
The powerplay session is defined by fielding restrictions (only 2 fielders outside the 30-yard circle). This produces aggressive batting and higher scoring rates. The market sets a line and you bet Over or Under. Average T20 powerplay scores range from 40 at slow venues to 60 at batting paradises. Key factors: opening pair quality, new ball movement (overcast = swing = lower scoring), and field restriction exploitation.
The most important factor for powerplay betting is the opening partnership. If both openers are set after 3 overs, the powerplay total is likely to be high. If one or both fall early, the new batsmen play more cautiously, reducing the total. This makes live betting on the powerplay highly dynamic and information-rich.
Middle Overs Runs (Overs 7-15)
The middle phase allows more fielders outside the circle (4-5 depending on format rules). Scoring typically slows compared to the powerplay. Spinners bowl the majority of their overs during this phase. Teams with strong spin attacks restrict middle-over scoring significantly. The market line for T20 middle overs is typically 55-75 runs depending on venue and teams. This session is most affected by the quality of the batting team's middle order and the bowling team's spin options.
Death Overs Runs (Overs 16-20)
The final five overs of a T20 innings produce the most volatile scoring. If the batting team has wickets in hand (7-8 wickets at over 15), death over totals can reach 55-70+. If they have lost most of their top order (only 4-5 wickets remaining), totals drop to 30-45. This dramatic difference based on wickets in hand makes the death overs the most unpredictable and therefore the most exciting live betting session.
Lambi Runs (Full Innings Total)
The single most traded cricket market in India. The bookmaker sets a line for the full innings total (e.g., 165.5 for a T20). You bet whether the actual total will be Over or Under this line. Lambi odds adjust throughout the innings based on the run rate, wickets fallen, and remaining batting resources. The 10-over score is the best predictor: teams at 85/2 at halfway typically finish at 165-175. Teams at 95/1 project to 180-190.
